NETWORKING LUNCH

13:45 - 14:10

AFTERNOON OPENING KEYNOTE

When manual valves become a risk you cannot control!
  • Small mistakes can quickly become serious incidents – A missed manual check or a valve left in the wrong position may seem minor, but it can create significant operational risk.
  • Incorrect valve positions are a major contributor – Studies show they can contribute to up to 40% of incidents, often driven by human error.
  • Terminals face this risk every year. Many terminals record 1–5 valve-related incidents annually, each with the potential to become bigger, more costly, and harder to control.
  • Real-time visibility changes the story – Wireless IIoT valve position monitoring makes manual valves visible in the control room, reducing guesswork and reliance on memory.
  • Prevention starts with visibility – Every avoided incident protects more than safety alone — it also protects efficiency, budgets, and reputation.

CONVERGENCE PLENARY

From Industrial IoT to AI-Ready Operations: Turning Oil & Gas Data into Real-Time Decisions

Oil and gas companies have invested heavily in sensors, connectivity, and digital platforms. Yet many still struggle with a simple question: why is it so hard to turn operational data into fast, reliable decisions?

This session focuses on how to move beyond fragmented data and pilots toward a more scalable, practical approach. We will walk through a proven pattern for creating a unified, real-time data backbone across operations. Without replacing existing systems, this approach connects data from field devices to enterprise systems in a consistent and reliable way, making it easier for different teams to access and use the same information.

Using real-world examples, we will show how operators are:

  • Monitoring and managing remote assets more effectively, even with limited connectivity
  • Reducing unplanned downtime by acting earlier on equipment issues
  • Improving consistency of data across sites and regions
  • Making operational data easier to access for analytics, reporting, and AI use cases
  • Finally, we will outline what it takes to make operational data truly “AI-ready” in practice, so that advanced analytics and automation initiatives can move from isolated pilots to production at scale.
